At Rancho Relaxo, we’ve spent the last four years building a flock with intention—selecting for fleece quality, strong conformation, and the calm, social temperament that makes Valais Blacknose sheep such a joy to live with. Our lambs are raised on pasture and handled daily, so they grow into confident, well-adjusted animals that transition easily to new homes.

Our farm sits at the base of Mount Hood at nearly 2,000 feet elevation, giving our sheep fresh air, open pasture, and a rhythm that reflects their alpine roots. A portion of our flock rotates seasonally to a hillside pasture at a local therapy farm—where they enjoy a double mountain view of Mount Hood to the south and Mount Adams to the north. The terrain and setting provide more than just a pretty backdrop: it offers varied forage, physical challenge, and meaningful social enrichment from the clients and caretakers they meet along the way. It also gets them comfortable with trailer travel and new environments, which makes them better adapted for life beyond our fences.

We release only a limited number of animals each year—including breeding-quality ewes and rams, pasture pets, and fiber companions. Most adult ewes can be sold either open or bred (for an additional $1,000), depending on timing and availability. Listings include key details such as percentage, parentage, date of birth, and registration eligibility.
