Wensleydale x Valais Pairings
These two ewes represent the fleece-forward foundation of our Valais upbreeding program. Both are 50% Wensleydale / 50% Valais, selected for their beautiful structure, calm demeanor, and longwool influence. Their lambs consistently show strong bodies, elegant fleece, and that unmistakable charm we love in a Valais cross.
If you’re building a fiber flock, exploring upbreeding with character and curl, or just love the balance of heritage genetics and modern conformation—these are the girls to watch.
WRF WREN
Wren brings deep heritage with her Wensleydale base, bred by Wild Rose Farm—one of the country’s leading Teeswater and Wensleydale programs. Her genetics carry richness, luster, and incredible mothering ability.
She’s the dam of Bruno, our 2024 standout wether—solid black thanks to his Spitti sire, and huge, with show-stopping fleece, a perfect topline, and a sweet, silly soul. We call him “the Lambrodoodle” for his curls and cuddles.
In 2025, Wren delivered twin ewe lambs, Mika and Maisel, both with light but complete Valais markings, solid structure, and fleece that’s already catching eyes. With their balance, boldness, and fleece quality, they show great potential as producers of future show sheep.
Affectionately known here as “Cookie Monster,” Wren is the first to greet you at the gate and will do absolutely anything for a horse treat. She’s social, dependable, and a consistent producer—an ideal addition to any fleece-forward or Valais-upbreeding program.

WREN PEDIGREE
WRF Velda
Velda is a powerhouse F1 ewe with a Wensleydale base and big shoes to fill—and she’s done exactly that. She’s the dam of RLX Beatrice, who took home Champion Colored Ewe (Spitti) at the 2025 Black Sheep Gathering. Beatrice, sired by a Spitti ram, inherited her dam’s structure, fleece, and a bold, lovable personality that makes her impossible to ignore.
Much like her sister Wren, Velda seems to pass along the “Cookie Monster” gene—Beatrice is just as food-motivated and friendly. We’re starting to think it might be a Wensleydale thing.
